Safe Routes to School grant worth $250,000

Federal funds will pay for sidewalk from 19th Street to William Tell Elementary

TELL CITY - A $250,000 Safe Routes to Schools Grant was awarded to Tell City this week, federal money that will fund construction of a 1.2-mile walking and bicycling sidewalk system along Tell Street leading to William Tell Elementary School. The city has pledged $29,347 as a match with construction likely sometime in 2008.
