Royalty take to the Perry Central court Friday

UPDATE: Due to weather conditions, Perry Central Schools have moved its homecoming ceremonies to the game scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 26. The junior-varity game Saturday will begin at 5:30 p.m.

LEOPOLD – The 2012-13 Perry Central basketball homecoming ceremony will be held between games of the boys’ varsity and junior varsity basketball game vs. Crawford County Friday. The junior varsity game begins at 5:30 p.m.
Senior classmates selected the queen and king candidates and the entire high-school student body will chose the queen and king.
Queen candidates
Lauren Davis is the daughter of Tim and Darlene Davis of rural Tell City. Throughout her high school career, she has been involved in volleyball, National Honor Society, 4-H, Big Brothers-Big Sisters and Key Club.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family. After graduation from high school, Davis plans to attend Indiana University to major in occupational therapy.
Taylor Elmer of rural Bristow is the daughter of Glen and Carla Elmer.  During high school, she has participated in cross country, cheerleading, gymnastics, Big Brothers-Big Sisters, art club, 4-H, German and Spanish clubs. During her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with family and friends. After Elmer graduates from high school, she plans to attend Indiana State University and study nursing.
Ashlyn Gehlhausen is the daughter of Tim and Denise Gehlhausen of rural Bristow. During her high school career, she has been active in student council, NHS, cross country, Big Brothers-Big Sisters and Key Club. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family. After high school graduation, Gehlhausen plans to attend Indiana University to major in marketing.
King candidates
Greg Coultas of Gatchel is the son of Tim and Jennie Coultas. Throughout his high school career, he has been involved in football, track, German and art clubs. During his spare time, he enjoys playing football and hanging out with friends. Coultas’ future plans after graduation from high school are to attend Vincennes University to study industrial maintenance.
Levi Hilgenhold is the son of J. P. and Pam Hilgenhold of Gatchel. Throughout high school, he has been involved in NHS, Key Club, student council, Students Taking Action Not Drugs, 4-H, football and track. In his spare time, he enjoys skiing, horseback riding and camping.
After graduation from high school, Hilgenhold plans to attend the U. S. Air Force Academy and major in astronautical engineering.
Alex Newton of Tell City is the son of Traci Newton. During high school, he has participated in NHS, pep and art clubs, STAND, Student Wellness Awareness Team, Big Brothers-Big Sisters, German club, cross country and track. In his spare time, he enjoys soccer.
After he graduates from high school, Newton plans to attend the University of Southern Indiana, where he will run for them. His major is undecided.
