Round Up grant requests due Feb. 15

PERRY COUNTY - The Operation Round Up board of trustees will accept grant applications until Feb. 15 for the first round of disbursement in March. Applications are available in the Southern Indiana Rural Electric Corp. office and at www.sirec.com.

Simply click on the "Forms" tab and then the "Operation Round Up" application link. Operation Round Up is a program where SIREC customers allow the company to round up their electric bills to the next highest dollar. The rounded up funds are collected for philanthropic and charitable donations in the geographic area of SIREC'S service territory.

Those eligible to apply for the funds include individuals, families, groups or organizations located within the Southern Indiana REC service territory which covers the counties of Perry, Spencer, Dubois and Warrick. Applicants need not be members of SIREC.

Grants are available for local volunteer fire departments, youth programs, 4-H, senior citizen programs and other community service projects.
