LEOPOLD—Perry Central guards Brittany Parker and Morgan Richardson were named to the All-PLAC girls basketball team in voting by conference coaches Thurs-day.
Parker, a 5-foot-2 junior, was one of three repeaters from last year’s team.
She led the Commodores with 15.1 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.5 steals per game.
She hit 37.4 percent from the field and 71.7 percent at the free-throw line and averaged 2.1 assists per game.
She did even better in conference games, averaging 16.0 points (third in the conference) and 7.3 rebounds (fourth) per game.
Richardson, a 5-foot-7 senior, averaged 12.1 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.3 steals and a team-high 3.1 assists per game overall.
She also led the Commodores in free-throw shooting at 75.5 percent and three-point shooting at 28.6 percent. She hit 36.6 percent from the field overall.
She was second in the conference in scoring with a 16.3-point average in conference games.
“For the most part, the voting went the way I thought it would,” said Perry Central Coach Ty Guillaume. “Since we finished at 3-3, all I could do was nominate three, but I did not expect to get all three nominations on the team.
“West Washington and Springs Valley also finished at 3-3 and Valley only got one girl on, so I was thankful to get two.”
Still Guillaume said he “thought that Hannah Edwards deserved to be on the team (she was 13th in the conference in scoring, second in three-pointers made, and sixth in rebounds), as she had better numbers than some of the girls.
“But our team finish limited her chances.”
Conference champion Paoli led the 12-girl team with three selections.
West Washington’s Shana Keller, who led the conference with 18.0 ppg, was the top vote-getter.
“She had 37 against us, so I thought she was deserving of it,” said Guillaume.
Besides Parker, repeaters from last year’s team were Mia Burton of Mitchell and Morgan Kingston of Paoli.
