Rev. Donald Walpole, 94

ST. MEINRAD – The Rev. Donald Walpole OSB, 94, a monk of Saint Meinrad Archabbey in St. Meinrad died Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at the monastery.
He was born in Indianapolis, May 1, 1917, one of six children of Martin and Mary (Hannan) Walpole.
Following his graduation from Saint Meinrad College in 1939, he was accepted into the novitiate at Saint Meinrad, subsequently professing his simple vows Aug. 6, 1940, and, three years later, his solemn vows. He was ordained to the priesthood Sept. 21, 1943.
 The Office of the Dead was prayed Sunday, Jan. 29, in the Archabbey Church. A Funeral Mass was held Monday, Jan. 30 in the Archabbey Church. Burial was in the Archabbey Cemetery.
