TELL CITY – From 5:50 to 7 p.m. Feb. 18, the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Perry County will officially get underway as event volunteers and participants gather at United Methodist Church, 702 10th St. in Tell City, for a kickoff celebration to launch their fundraising efforts for the year.
Although the Relay For Life of Perry County is more than four months away, now is the time to get involved organizers said. Residents are invited to attend the kickoff celebration to learn more about the upcoming event and how they can become part of an exciting overnight event that will pave the way to a world with less cancer and more birthdays.
The kickoff celebration is open to the public. Relay For Life of Perry County Kickoff Celebration will be a time to gather information as you walk around an indoor mini track and speak with local volunteers. The event will include food, information and prizes.
Community members also can start or join a team by following the links to their local Relay event, or by attending the Relay Kickoff Celebration. Donations can be made to this local Relay For Life event by visiting RelayForLife.org/perrycountyin. The 2013 Relay For Life of Perry County will take place June 8-9 at Perry Central High School track beginning at 2 p.m., with a Survivor Victory Lap.
