Rangers nip Tell City

FERDINAND - Forest Park scored an unearned run in the bottom of the eighth inning to beat Tell City 1-0 in PAC girls softball Tuesday.

Tell City freshman Josalyn Ress and Forest Park senior Jenna Brinkman hooked up in a classic pitchers duel.

Ress walked none, struck out 12, and gave up three hits. Brinkman also walked none, struck out five, and scattered nine hits.

Neither team made an error until the bottom of the eighth inning.

After Laura Hassfurther led off that inning with a double to right-center field, the Rangers tried to bunt her to third base.
