TELL CITY - Sarah Boeglin shot a 4-over-par 42 for medalist honors as Southridge beat Tell City 212-262 in girls golf Monday.

Boeglin, the Jasper sectional runner-up last year, birdied two of the first three holes.

Most of Tell City's golfers, meanwhile, got off to a slow start.

"We've just got to do a better job putting," said Tell City Coach Jim Meek. "The greens have just been aerated, which makes putting different. But they were the same for everybody."

Amber Thomas led Tell City with a 53.

Megan Neyenhaus shot a 66, her best round of the season, and Lindsey Noble shot a 70.

Jessica Ballman and Britney Hendershot each shot a 73 to tie for the Marksmen's fourth scorer.

Amber Fentress was their sixth player with an 80.

C.J. Fentress, usually the Marksmen's No. 2 scorer, did not play because she was sick.

Tell City finished 13th among 13 complete teams in an 18-hole tourney at Jasper Municipal Saturday.

Thomas shot a 45 on the front nine but a 63 on the back nine to finish at 108.

Other Tell City scorers were C.J. Fentress with a 122, Ballman 127, and Amber Fentress 154.

Evansville North, led by defending Evansville regional champion Natalie Schmett, won the team title with 339 strokes.

Schmett shot a 77 for medalist honors.

Tell City will host Jasper and Floyd Central Tuesday at 4 p.m.

Jasper Invitational team scores: Evansville North 339, Bloomington South 371, Jasper 372, Washington 374, Floyd Central 383, Evansville Memorial 386, Mater Dei 394, North Harrison 394, Salem 401, Mount Vernon 410, Shelbyville 427, Vincennes Lincoln 422, Tell City 511, Wood Memorial and Crawford County no team scores
