TELL CITY - The upcoming celebration of Tell City's rich history will include a display of old-fashioned quilting skills. The Lincoln Trail Quilt Guild will sponsor a quilt show Friday and Saturday, Aug. 8-9, at Evangelical United Church of Christ's Fellowship Hall in Tell City. Hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $2.

Approximately 50 quilted items will be displayed, including full-size quilts and smaller wall-hanging pieces made by women from Perry and Spencer counties. Some items entered into the show are hand-quilted while others were made by machine.

The guild will also sell chances for a red and white quilt that will be on display during the show and is expected to be finished in time for a February 2009 drawing. Tickets are $1 or six for $5.

Stop by the quilt show, contact any guild member or call Nancy Spencer at 836-2800 to buy tickets.

The Lincoln Trail Quilt was formed in February 2007. For more information on the show or the guild, call Charlotte Borders at 547-8107.
