SPENCER COUNTY – The Spen-cer County Community Foundation will host a health coverage seminar at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 13 at the Lincoln Commerce Center.
This informal presentation will be a chance to learn about health-care options and how to get individuals enrolled.
The goal of the program is to spread the word that everyone deserves health coverage and that healthcare is available through Indiana Medicaid.
Attending the event will be representatives from St. Mary’s Community Outreach, who will discuss Covering Kids and Families of Indiana Inc., a statewide organization committed to ensuring all children and families eligible for Medicaid and the state’s Children’s Health Insurance Program are enrolled.
Covering Kids and Families of Indiana is a partnership of more than 500 organizations and individuals “advocating health coverage for all.”

It advocates to reduce barriers and increase access, availability, and affordability, while building resources among partners to increase access to health care and effectively educate to positively influence public policy.
Also attending will be MDwise Outreach Coordinator for Southwest Indiana Jamie Cartwright. MDwise is the largest not-for-profit managed care organization in Indiana, serving Hoosier Healthwise, Care Select and Healthy Indiana Plan members. Cartwright will explain services offered by MDwise and how they can benefit residents.
