TELL CITY - A proposed electric-rate increase is expected to come before the Tell City Common Council this evening, members' first meeting of the new year, with a public hearing scheduled for 7 p.m.
The Tell City Electric Department has proposed rate increases that would boost the average cost of power provided to its customers by 12.9 percent. If approved, the new schedule of rates and charges could take effect by April. The new rates could raise an additional $1 million per year in revenue.
