TELL CITY - Members of the public will have regular opportunities to address the Tell City-Troy Township School Board at future meetings.

Member Tom Holm regularly points out that members of the public don't attend their meetings, and did so again at the Aug. 11 regular meeting.

He has also gone further by saying several members are "on overtime," referring to terms extended ahead of a change to an elected school board. His implication was that if school-district residents care about how board members are seated, they should care about the issues discussed at regular meetings.

"I'd like to add a public-comment item to every agenda," Board President Larry Bryant said in response to Holm's latest observation, "to encourage people to come and give their thoughts and ask questions."

"If not that, a phone call," Holm answered. "Some people have trouble getting up and speaking."

He would welcome calls, Holmsaid.

"I'm the only Holm in the phone book. I'm not hard to find," he added.
