Property tax bills due Nov. 12

PERRY COUNTY – Thanks to November’s calendar, Perry Countians will have an extra two days to pay the fall installments of their property-tax bills.

Bills are normally due Nov. 10 but that day falls on a Sunday. Nov. 11 is Veterans Day and county offices are closed. That means the deadline falls on the 12th.

Property-tax bills can be paid in person at the courthouse weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Office hours will be extended until 6 p.m. Nov. 12.

Payments can also be made at all local banks or mailed to the Perry County Treasurer's Office, P.O. Box 756, Tell City, IN 47586. Mail postmarked on or before Nov. 12 will be considered on time, Treasurer Judy Pund said. Payments received after Nov. 12 will incur a 5 percent penalty for the first 30 days, and an additional 5 percent penalty after that date.

A drop box is located in front of the courthouse for payments. Cash should not be placed in the drop box.
Property owners can also use their debit card, as well as Visa, MasterCard and Discover credit cards, at the treasurer's office, online at www.paygovllc.com or by calling (866) 480-8552. To use a debit or credit card online, log on to paygovllc.com and click "Pay Online Now" on the right side of the screen. Drop-down boxes on the next page allow users to select "Indiana" and "Perry County" and to complete the transaction.

A convenience fee will be assessed by the company processing payments. The fee does not generate money for the county. For information, call the treasurer’s office at 547-4816.
