Property tax bills delayed

Auditor: They'll be issued later this summer

TELL CITY - Property-tax bills won't be due May 10 this year, as they usually are, as county officials cope with new requirements and await data from Indianapolis that will allow them to begin the process of preparing statements for mailing.

"I hope to have a much better idea by mid-May," County Auditor Connie Berger said Friday. "What is clear is that there won't be a May 10 deadline."
