Tell City High School is among 40 schools statewide given an honor for the first time this year by the Indiana Association of School Principals.

The organization responsible for Academic Super Bowls named the home of the Marksmen among the 2009 Academic Super Bowl Top 10 Teams, according to information at www.iasp.org.

"For the first time," the Web-site posting announces, "special recognition is being given to the Top 10 teams in each enrollment class, based on the cumulative scores of all six rounds at the area competition," the contest where academic teams qualify for state-level competition.

Based on its size, TCHS competed in Class 3. Other schools named to the top 10 in the same class include Bishop Luers, Bremen, Greencastle, Hanover Central, Indian Creek, North Judson-San Pierre, North Posey, Park Tudor and Winchester Community high schools.
