Power of Youth program accepting applications for council members

PERRY COUNTY - The Perry County Power of Youth, a program sponsored by the Perry County Community Foundation and United Way of Perry County, in partnership with Purdue Extension Perry County is accepting applications for its 2010-11 council.

The program's mission is to develop philanthropic values in youth through education, leadership and participation in local philanthropic activities. The Perry County Power of Youth Council consists of sophomores, juniors and seniors from all three area high schools and provides them a chance to work together to improve their community.

An informational session about the program will begin at the Schergens Center at 6 p.m. June 24 for students interest in becoming members of 2010-11 Youth Council and their parents.

Applications are due July 19 and can be found online or at the Tell City-Perry County Public Library.
