PERRY COUNTY – The Perry County Power of Youth Council is still accepting grants applications and would like to invite those in Perry County working with youth or wellness programs to apply.
Up to $5,000 will be awarded for programs that involve Perry County youth or a focus on wellness that benefits Perry County.
The Power of Youth welcomes funding requests from nonprofit organizations that are tax-exempt under sections 501 (c) (3) and 509 (a) of the Internal Revenue Code. Funding requests from other nonprofit organizations to carry out charitable projects or activities that address issues facing youth or wellness in Perry County may be accepted; however, the organization may be required to apply using a fiscal sponsor.
The grant proposal form is designed to be completed on-screen online at www.perrycommunityfoundation.org/youth-philanthropy-grantmaking. Funding requests will be accepted until April 12.
The Perry County Power of Youth council consists of youth in 10th through 12th grades from each Perry County school. The council promotes philanthropy among today’s young people to prepare them to support their communities of tomorrow by giving their time, talent and treasure. It also teaches them how to be agents of change in their community.
The youth philanthropy education program is a collaboration between the Perry County Community Foundation and United Way of Perry County. The program has an advisory committee of volunteers from the community.
