Picturesque walkway

A break in the floodwall offers users of Cannelton’s walkway a “path-less-traveled” option, with a single-chain barrier encouraging it over the streets-and-manufacturing-area alternative.

The greenway was funded by a $50,000 grant from the Indiana Office of Tourism Development with additional funds provided by the Cannelton Foundation. City leaders agreed at recent meetings on rules for the new path, deciding that pedestrians, including wheelchair users and people walking leashed dogs, may use it. Except for electric wheelchairs, motorized vehicles will be prohibited.
