WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Baron Hill announced this month that Perry, Spencer, Floyd, Orange and Scott counties will receive federal emergency-grant funds.
The $720,000 grant will be administered by the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.
According to a release issued by the Department of Labor, the funds will be used for a project that "will create temporary employment to assist in clean-up and recovery efforts as a result of the September 2008 storms and flooding, as well as provide goods, clothing, shelter and other humanitarian assistance for disaster victims."
"I am pleased Floyd, Orange, Perry, Scott and Spencer counties will be receiving these funds," Hill said. "People are still trying to rebuild their lives due to last year's extreme weather and I am confident this money will be put to good use."
