ROCKPORT—It was a rough night for Perry County fighters, who went 0-3 at a kickboxing event held by Indiana Fighting Champion-ship Saturday.
Thomas Kellems and Kyle Osborne each went the distance but suffered unanimous decision losses.
Kellems lost a back-and-forth match with David Colburn. Osborne lost to Ryan “Octane” Fischer.
Of the 13 matches on the card, Kellems and Osborne’s were the only ones to last the entire three rounds. Both fighters are from Tell City.
Another Tell City fighter, Tyler Young, lost the shortest bout of the night, as he was knocked out in 26 seconds by Lou Alexander.
Spencer Countian Dan “The Sandman” Christison, husband of Cannelton graduate Kyria (McBrayer) Christison, defeated Jeff Robinson in the main event .
In his first official fight since Feb. 26, 2010, Christison, who’s fought professionally all over the world, showed no ill effects of the long layoff, knocking Robinson down three times in less than a minute to earn a technical knockout 2:40 into the first round.
Since moving to Dale a few years ago, Christison has spent much of his time training local fighters at his dojo, The Sandbox, and helping his wife operate IFC, which was founded in 2011.
