LEOPOLD - Perry Central drew numerous walks to beat Orleans 13-10 in the second game of a junior high girls softball doubleheader Friday.
The Commodores scored 11 runs in the first inning despite having only two hits that inning, singles by Hannah Harpenau and Alex Lewis.
Orleans committed one error, the only one it made for the game, in that inning. The rest of the runners reached base via walks.
Perry Central had four hits in the game, which lasted only three innings due to the time limit.
Orleans had five hits but Perry Central pitchers walked only three batters. However five Perry Central errors helped the Bulldogs score their runs.
Hannah Harpenau pitched the first two innings for Perry Central to get the win. She walked two and struck out two.
Orleans won the first game 13-10. Perry Central had five hits, including a triple by Kristi Brumfield and doubles by Sydney Goffinet and Brooke Litherland.
Brumfield drove in two runs.
Brumfield pitched the first three innings for Perry Central, striking out two and walking six.
Miranda Claise pitched the last two innings, striking out one and walking two.
The PLAC league tourney, scheduled Saturday, was rained out and will not be rescheduled.
Perry Central finished the season 3-12-1.
