ENGLISH - Zach Graves shot a 4-over-par 44 for medalist honors as Perry Central won a boys triangular golf match Monday.
Perry Central shot 177 strokes, Jasper 181, and Tell City 196. Jasper did not bring its top five golfers, though it was scheduled as a varsity match.
Graves birdied the par-4 No. 4 hole.
Besides Graves, Perry Central scorers were Charles Weatherholt with a 44, Zach Rogier 46, and Travis Goffinet 47.
Anthony Rennie, who shot a 48, and Logan Shearn, 52, also played for the Commodores.
"It was our best round of the year," said Perry Central Coach Bill Dickerson. "It was the most consistent for our second through fifth golfers."
Ian Reed led Tell City with a 41, including a birdie on the par-5 No. 1 hole.
Other Tell City scorers were Victor Schutzius with a 48, Corey Young 53, and Alex Daugherty 54.
Adam Ramsey, 56, and Tyler Jennings, 60, also played for the Marksmen.
Tell City bounced back with a much stronger round the next day, tying its best score of the season though finishing third in a triangular match at Huntingburg County Club.
Perry Central also played Tuesday and was second to Springs Valley in a triangular at the Ross course in French Lick.
