LEOPOLD – The 2011-12 Perry Central basketball homecoming ceremony will be held Friday between games of the boys’ varsity and junior varsity basketball game vs. Orleans. The junior varsity game begins at 5:30 p.m.
Their fellow senior classmates selected the queen and king candidates. The entire high school student body will choose the queen and king.
Queen candidates
Lindsey Gengelbach is the daughter of Don and Linda Gengelbach of St. Croix. During high school, she was involved in cross country, basketball, track, National Honor Society, Key Club, Big Brothers-Big Sisters, 4-H and Art Club. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, swimming, running and spending time with her friends. After graduation from high school, Gengelbach plans to attend Purdue University and major in biomedical engineering.
Grace Goffinet of rural Bristow is the daughter of Kevin and Bridget Goffinet. Throughout her high school career, she has participated in Key, German and pep clubs, Big Brothers-Big Sisters and National Honor Society. During her spare time, she enjoys art, playing the violin and hanging out with friends and family. After Goffinet graduates from high school, she plans to attend Indiana University and major in psychiatry with emphasis in art therapy.
Susan Schwartz is the daughter of Neal and Mary Schwartz of Doolittle Mills. During high school, she has been active in cross country, basketball, track, Students Taking Action Not Drugs, National Honor Society, Big Brothers-Big Sisters and Science Academic Team. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and art sculpting. After high school graduation, Schwartz plans to attend Purdue University and major in pharmacy.
King candidates
Sam Bland is the son of the late Joseph Bland and Mike and Kris Foster of rural St. Meinrad. During his spare time, he enjoys playing basketball, football, listening to music and hanging out with family and friends. His future plans after graduation from high school are to attend college and major in law enforcement.
Tyler Hagedorn of rural St. Marks is the son of Andy and Beth Hagedorn. Throughout high school he has been involved in National Honor Society, Big Brothers-Big Sisters, FFA, track, football and German Club. In his spare time, he enjoys motocross and hanging out with friends. After graduation from high school, Hagedorn plans to attend Purdue University and major in civil engineering.
Hunter LaGrange is the son of Clifford and Joanie LaGrange of Leopold. During high school, he has participated in football, track, FFA, Big Brothers-Big Sisters and We the Youth of Perry County. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, going on the river and hanging out with friends. LaGrange’s future plans after high school graduation are to attend college and major in kinesiology.
