Perry Central girls 2nd in Southridge invitational

HUNTINGBURG—Cathryn Peter won the 3200-meter run and Perry Central won two relays as it placed second in Southridge’s eight-team girls track invitational Thursday.
Southridge won with 127 points. Perry Central scored 110.
Peter won the 3200 in 12:36.75 and placed second to Heritage Hills star Sienna Crews in the 1600 in 5:35.
Peter teamed with Grace James, Marie Schwartz and Megan Thomas to win the 3200 relay in 10:37, their best time of the year.
Skylar Parker, Sarah Spires, Brynnan Underhill and Blayre Underhill won the freshman 400 relay in 55.59 seconds.
Amber Lindauer, Allison Parker, James and Peter placed second in the 1600 relay in 4:24.
Lindauer set a personal record as she placed second in the 300 low hurdles in 50.59.
She took third in the 100 intermediate hurdles in 17.39.
Allison Parker set a personal record as she placed third in the 400 dash in 65.96.
Ashley Gengelbach cleared 5 feet to place third in a strong high-jump field.
Perry Central will compete in a four-team meet at Forest Park Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
