Perry Central falls to Jasper

JASPER—Strong defense helped Jasper beat Perry Central 25-13, 25-8, 25-9 in volleyball Thursday.

The Wildcats held Perry Central to fewer kills and ace serves than usual.

Megan Hedinger led the Commodores with seven kills and Jessica Huber was next with four.

Hedinger also made three blocks and Ashley Gengelbach added two.

No one served more than one ace for the Commodores.

Jennifer Kemp had seven assists and Tessa Lynch added five.

Hilarie Hahus made nine digs, Sloan Harpenau six, and Huber and Lynch five apiece.

Jasper won the junior varsity match 25-11, 25-10.

Lynsay Goffinet and Brittany Overstreet each made three kills for Perry Central.

Lauren Davis had four assists.

Overstreet also made seven digs and Kayla Carter added six.

Perry Central, 10-19 in varsity and 10-7 in JV matches, will host Forest Park Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
