Family wellness event open to everyone from 5:3- to 7:30 p.m.

LEOPOLD – Family wellness is the theme of this year’s annual Perry Central health fair from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 7.

Organizers say there will be many fun activities for all ages, including a new family walk-run with prizes for the first 100 families that register and complete the mile-long course.

Families can also explore an Air Evac helicopter and fire trucks, join a Zumba class, sample healthy snacks, play games and get free or low-cost health screenings including vision and visual dental checks.

Kids can earn playtime on inflatables by visiting some of the dozens of family wellness booths with their parents or guardians. This free, community event presented by Perry Central Family Outreach and co-sponsored by Perry County Memorial Hospital and the Welborn HEROES program will also feature a free sub supper.

Families can sign up for the walk-run by filling out a registration form available at school offices or online at the school website at www. pccs.k12.in.us.

“We hope to get lots of families out on the track and getting some exercise together. We are also encouraging teachers and other members of the community to walk with them,” said Family Outreach Coordinator Jackie Colucci. For more information, call 843-5122.
