DUBOIS - Northeast Dubois got second shots and controlled the boards to defeat Perry Central 61-50 in boys basketball Thursday.
Nick Huber hit a shot to pull the Commodores within one at 42-41 with 7:21 left.
Perry Central then tried a full-court press, but Northeast Dubois' Josh Breitwieser made a short jump shot to put the Jeeps up by three.
Even though the Commo-dores did not score for the next 3:17, they were still down only five points.
Then Huber made a three-point shot from the right side of the key.
The Jeeps limited Perry Central to one shot while converting many inside shots as they went on an 11-3 run in the next 2:23 to put the game away.
Austin Hauser and Huber led Perry Central 17 points apiece.
Hauser came off the bench to hit five three-point shots as he reached his career high in scoring.
Eric Vogler, a 6-foot-1 senior forward, led Northeast Dubois with 15 points.
Northeast Dubois controlled the glass, outrebounding Perry Central 35-25. Josh Breitwieser, a 6-foot-5 senior center, grabbed 12 rebounds for the Jeeps.
Huber led the Commodores with five.
T. J. Lamon had five assists to lead Perry Central.
The Commodores committed 16 turnovers, four more than the Jeeps.
Perry Central hit only 34.0 percent (18 of 53) from the field while Northeast Dubois made 46.8 percent (22 of 47).
The Jeeps scored the first 10 points of the game.
"We came out flat again," said Perry Central Coach Matt Carter. "We got outplayed the entire first half.
"In the fourth quarter we pulled it to one and when we needed a stop or a rebound they outplayed us," said Carter.
Perry Central dropped to 10-8 while Northeast Dubois improved to 10-6.
Perry Central will play at Paoli Friday at 7 p.m.

Jake Schwartz and Alex Rogier each scored eight points for Perry Central.
Clint Cassidy had six rebounds and three assists for the 11-5 Commodores. Jake and Reuben Schwartz each made three steals.
