LEOPOLD - Megan Hedinger made nine kills and served six aces as Perry Central beat South Spencer 25-15, 23-25, 15-8 in the Perry Central tipoff volleyball tourney Saturday.
Perry Central lost its other two matches to Southridge 25-9, 25-8 and to Northeast Dubois to finish third in the four-team round-robin.
Jessica Huber backed Hedinger with six kills against South Spencer. Molly Harth and Kyla Edwards each added three.
Tessa Lynch and Sloan Harpenau each had eight assists. Hilarie Hahus made five digs.
Edwards served nine points in a row in the first game and Hedinger served 11 in a row in the second game.
No Commodore made more than one kill against Southridge and no one served an ace.
Harpenau made eight digs that match.
Perry Central lost to Northeast Dubois 25-15, 25-7.
Huber made three kills and four digs that match and Lynch had four assists.
The Commodores lost to Northeast Dubois again in a road match Tuesday 27-25, 26-24, 25-13 Tuesday, though "we're playing better," said Perry Central Coach Becky Genet. "We're passing the ball a lot better. But we just can't get everything together."
Hedinger and Huber each made eight kills in that match and Hedinger added four blocks.
Harpenau had 10 assists and Lynch added seven. Harpenau also served three aces.
Hahus made 12 digs and Huber added seven.
Perry Central's junior varsity also went 1-2 in Saturday's tourney and lost to Northeast Dubois 21-25, 25-18, 15-14 Tuesday.
Olivia Schroeder and Victoria Lutgring each made four kills Tuesday. Lutgring also made four blocks.
Deidra Dickerson made nine digs and Kayla Carter added eight. Lindsey Gengelbach had six assists.
The JV Commodores beat South Spencer 25-11, 25-6 Saturday as Schroeder served 11 aces and Gengelbach had six assists.
Schroeder made four kills in a 25-4, 25-17 loss to Northeast Dubois Saturday.
Schroeder and Lutgring each made three kills in a 25-20, 25-24 loss to Southridge.
Perry Central, 2-6 in varsity and 3-5 in JV, will host Tecumseh tonight at 6.
