PCMH to offer various CPR classes to public

TELL CITY – CPR classes for Heartsaver automated external defibrillator, basic life support for health-care providers, family and friends and first-aid classes will be held at the Perry County EMS-Rescue building, located near Perry County Memorial Hospital.
The Heartsaver CPR with AED certification class is scheduled for 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 18. Class content includes adult, child and infant CPR,  automated external defibrillation and choking-rescue skills.  Participants must be able to pass a skills performance evaluation. Class fee is $40.
The Heartsaver First Aid certification class is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. July 16. Participants must pass a skills performance evaluation. Fee is $20.
The basic life support for health-care providers CPR certification classes are offered July 18 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. An evening class is scheduled from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Class content includes adult, child and infant CPR, including two-rescuer, use of bag and mask, automated external defibrillation and choking rescue skills. A written exam and skills test will be given. Class fee is $45.
A CPR for family and friends class is scheduled for 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday. Adult, child and infant CPR and choking-rescue skills will be demonstrated and practiced. This course will not have a test. This class is for those who want to learn CPR skills and are not required to have a certification card. It is recommended for those 12 years and older. Any children ages 10 to 11 years old may sign up with an older sibling, family member or friend to take the class. Cost is $10.
