PCMH to offer CPR classes

PERRY COUNTY – CPR certification classes for Heartsaver AED, health-care providers or students will be held at the Perry County EMS-Rescue building, located near Perry County Memorial Hospital, Dec. 19.  
The Heartsaver AED-CPR class is scheduled from 8 to 11 a.m. This class is for students or employees such as teachers, security staff, day-care staff and other community occupations seeking a certification CPR class for job requirements. Class content includes adult, child and infant CPR, automated external defibrillation and choking-rescue skills.  Participants must be able to pass a skills performance evaluation. Class fee is $45.
The Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider CPR class is scheduled for noon to 3 p.m. Dec. 19. This CPR class is for individuals in the community who are required to complete a certified CPR class. Individuals such as those working in short- or long-term care facilities, physician and dental offices, therapists, students in nursing or other related fields may benefit from this BLS for HCP class. Class content includes adult, child and infant CPR, including two-rescuer, use of bag-mask, automated external defibrillation and choking-rescue skills. A written exam and skills test will be administered. Class fee is $50.
Class size is limited for both programs and registration is required.
