ENGLISH - A bad first hole kept Perry Central from winning a boys triangular golf match Tuesday.

Crawford County won with 167 strokes. Perry Central shot 171 and Tell City 183.

"We were only four strokes behind Crawford County - that's as close as we've ever been to them," said Perry Central Coach Bill Dickerson. "And our four scorers were a combined 9 over par on the first hole, a par-5. If we just bogey it, that trims five strokes and we win the match."

Travis Goffinet led Perry Central with a 4-over-par 40.

Zach Graves shot 41, Zach Rogier 43, and Logan Shearn 49 to complete the Commodores' scoring.

Graves birdied the par-3 No. 5 hole. Charles Weather-holt, the Commodores' fifth man, birdied the par-4 No. 7 hole.

Victor Schutzius shot a 44 to lead Tell City.

Ian Reed and Corey Young each shot 45 and Alex Cole 49 to complete the Marksmen's scoring.

Tell City competed in the PAC meet at Christmas Lake Saturday and finished sixth with a 380.

Reed shot 81 to finish fourth overall and thus make all-conference.

Young shot 88, Schutzius 102, and Logan Bolin 109 for the Marksmen.

Alex Cole was their fifth man with a 111.

Team scores: Gibson Southern 331, Southridge 333, Pike Central 341, Heritage Hills 343, Forest Park 363, Tell City 380, South Spencer 387, North Posey 389, Tecumseh 388
