LEOPOLD—Perry Central is still the favorite to win the PLAC girls track meet this year, but it could be much closer than usual.

Traditionally the top four teams in the conference met in sort of a preview of the PLAC meet Thursday. Perry Central won with 95 points, just 21⁄2 ahead of runner-up Mitchell.

Paoli scored 32 points and Crawford County 71⁄2.

Perry Central won seven of the 15 events, including all three relays.

Jessica Huber (100-meter hurdles), Arika Kemp (100 dash), Tessa Lynch (800) and Brianna Crockett (200) each won one individual running event for the Commodores.

Mitchell won six events, including all four field events.

Perry Central, 5-3, will host Northeast Dubois and Cannelton Tuesday at 4:15 p.m.
