MITCHELL - Perry Central used a nine-run sixth inning to rout Orleans 14-1 in PLAC baseball Wednesday.
Though that inning removed any doubt about the outcome, Perry Central led 5-0 going into the sixth after Wes Linette hit a three-run homer over the right-center-field fence in the fifth inning.
Zach Lutgring also drove in three runs for the game, as he went 3 for 4 with a single, double and triple.
Lucas Bryant hit a two-run, pinch-hit single in the big sixth inning.
Orleans pitcher Steve Jacobs no-hit the Commodores the first four innings, though they scored a run in the first inning on two errors, a stolen base, and a fielder's choice grounder.
Linette pitched a two-hitter for the win, striking out eight and walking two.
Perry Central improved to 3-7 overall, 1-1 in the PLAC. Orleans fell to 2-4 overall, 1-2 in the conference.
