FERDINAND - Forest Park broke up Perry Central's shutout bid with three runs in the fifth inning and beat the Commodores 6-1 in baseball Friday.
Perry Central pitcher Wes Linette cruised through the first four innings. But in the fifth the Rangers first three batters singled.
A bases-loaded walk to the Rangers' cleanup hitter then tied the score 1-1.
The next batter singled in two runs to put the Rangers ahead for good.
The Rangers outhit Perry Central 9-6 for the game.
Lucas Bryant went 2 for 3 with an RBI to lead Perry Central hitters.
