PC defeats West Washington twice

CAMPBELLSBURG—Perry Central overcame West Washington’s 8-0 first-inning lead to beat the Senators 13-11 in the first game of a junior high baseball doubleheader Tuesday.

Perry Central rallied for seven runs in the second inning. Alton Cummings and Michael Sims each had two hits and each drove in three runs that inning.

Cummings, Nathan Shaw and Austin Linne each hit a double that inning.

“We hit the ball well that inning,” said Perry Central Coach Bob Linne.

Sims and Cummings each had three hits for the game, with each getting a double. Austin Linne added two doubles, Shaw had a single and a double, and Zach Wright hit a triple.

Austin LeClere was the winning pitcher in relief. He gave up seven hits and four walks and struck out nine in 42⁄3 innings.

Perry Central won the second game 6-2 as Sims hit two doubles and Wright added another triple.

Sims pitched all five innings for the win, striking out four and walking four.

Perry Central lost to Northeast Dubois 7-2 in the second game of a doubleheader last Thursday, getting outhit 7-5.

Five players each had a single for Perry Central.

Anthony Mosby pitched 42⁄3 innings for the Commodores to take the loss. He struck out eight and walked four.

Perry Central finished the season 8-7.
