TELL CITY - Nick Huber and Corey Kimball each won two individual events as Perry Central won the Perry County boys track meet Thursday.

The Commodores scored 75 points, Tell City 44, and Cannelton 3.

Huber won both hurdles races, taking the 110-meter high hurdles in 14.75 seconds and the 300 intermediate hurdles in 39.95.

Kimball won two distance races, running the 1600 in 4:44 and the 3200 in 10:9.67.

Zach Hagedorn and Michael Ernst each won one individual race and two relays.

Hagedorn won the 400-meter dash in 56.06.

He teamed with Todd Gehlhausen, Ian Bashor and Ernst to win the 3200 relay in 8:41.

Gehlhausen, Hagedorn, Ernst and Huber won the 1600 relay in 3:38.13.

Ernst won the 800 run in 2:09.

Dakota Huff, Andy James, T.J. Hall and Ethan Wheatley won the 400 relay.

James won the 100 dash in 11.75 and Huff took the 200 in 25.13 as Perry Central won all 11 running events.

Tell City took three of the four field events, though.

Zach Avallone won the long jump at 18 feet, 9 1?4 inches, Daniel Scott took the discus with a 121-foot-3 throw, and Cody Nash won the shot put with a 41-10 1?2 toss.

Perry Central's Zach Rogier, a senior competing in his first track meet, won the high jump by clearing 5 feet, 2 inches.

Tell City ran without star sprinter Kyle Kessinger, sidelined with an ankle injury, and distance runner Alex Fenn, who recently had surgery on his hand.

Fenn is due back for the Marksmen's next meet and Kessinger may return then. "It depends on how soon his ankle heals," said Tell City Coach Chris Hollinden.

Cannelton had only three boys competing but got three points from sophomore T.J. James, who placed a close second in the discus with a 120-foot-0 throw.

That broke the Bulldogs' school record of 119 feet, 6 inches set by his father, Tom James, in 1990.

Perry Central's next meet is at North Harrison April 1. Tell City's next meet is the same day at Southridge .
