LEOPOLD—Perry Central’s girls basketball team broke out of its shooting slump in a big way in Tuesday’s 83-20 win over Rock Creek.
The Commodores hit 59.1 percent from the field, including 36 of 56 from two-point range.
Ashley Graves was strong inside as usual, hitting 12 of 18 for 24 points.
Brittany Parker added 23 points on 10 of 11 shooting. She used her quickness to score on several drives but also hit 2 of 3 three-point shots.
Freshman reserve Sarah Spires was 7 for 7 from the field, including 1 of 1 from three-point range, for 15 points. Erica Hill added 10 points on 5 of 10 shooting.
Graves grabbed 16 rebounds and blocked six shots.
Hill and Parker each had eight rebounds and Lynsay Goffinet had six assists. Parker made four steals.
Brittany Page and Christi Scholl each scored six points for 0-17 Rock Creek.
Perry Central hit only 24.5 percent from the field in a 58-34 loss at Northeast Dubois Saturday.
“They’re very good (the Jeeps are 16-1 and ranked No. 3 in the state in Class A),” said Perry Central Coach Bill Dickerson. “They have so many players that can hurt you. But we’re just not shooting the ball well right now.”
Graves led Perry Central with 21 points on 7 of 12 field-goal shooting and 7 of 7 free throws.
Graves grabbed 10 rebounds. Parker had four assists and Hill and Rosa Schwartz each made three steals.
Perry Central, 11-8, will visit Mitchell Saturday at 1 p.m.

The Jeeps won the JV game 34-20. Amber Lindauer and Brynnan Underhill each scored five points for 6-8 Perry Central and Skyly Cummings grabbed six rebounds.
There was no JV game Tuesday.
