PERRY COUNTY – Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2939 and the Ladies Auxiliary announce this year’s Patriots Pen essay writing contest. Students in sixth through eighth grades are eligible for the contest. Home-school students are encouraged to enter as well.
This contest gives students an opportunity to write essays expressing their views on democracy with the prospect of winning U.S. savings bonds. The top national prize is a $10,000 US savings bond.
This year’s topic is “Are you proud of your country?”
