Pappano: Housing grants still needed

More residents eligible for rehabilitation program

TELL CITY - The $1.2 million Tony Pappano has brought to Perry County in the form of housing-rehab grants isn't enough. Needs remain to be fulfilled, he said, so he's asking for more.

His latest success in obtaining money through a highly competitive program offered by federal and state housing agencies, reported in April, netted $190,000 of the $300,000 he sought. Armed with some tips on making his application more competitive, he's now going after another $300,000.
