INDIANAPOLIS - The family of State Rep. Dennie Oxley (D-Taswell) issued the following statement last week on the legislator, who has been under medical care since going into cardiac arrest while being held for observation at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper in mid-November:

"We have asked that the speaker of the house excuse Dennie from attending Indiana House sessions in Indianapolis this week. Although Dennie will not be able to be there, we fully expect him to be back at his job serving the people of the 73rd House District very soon."
