Orleans tops Bulldogs

ORLEANS—Cannelton had at least 20 dropped balls in a 25-9, 25-9, 25-5 volleyball loss to Orleans Thursday.

“We need to work on staying on our toes and moving to defensive coverage,” said Cannelton Coach Bridget Bruggeman.

The Bulldogs also had problems with “communication again—working together,” added Bruggeman, saying that led to the dropped balls.

On the positive side, the Bulldogs “had fewer service errors” than in recent matches, said Bruggeman. However, they weren’t able to land any serves for aces.

Mikah Hemmings led Cannelton hitters with four kills.

Cannelton, 1-3, will visit Wood Memorial Thursday at 6 p.m.
