Orleans Dogwood Festival April 30

-A A +A

ORLEANS – The Orleans Chamber of Commerce will hold their 46th Dogwood Festival from April 30 through May 3 at the Historic Congress Square in downtown Orleans.

Several activities and food will be available, including carnival rides, games, children’s activities, an arts and crafts fair, a hometown parade, food, live entertainment and viewing of the dogwoods. Admission is free. This event is recognized in the April 2012 edition of Midwest Living Magazine as one of the top five flowering festivals.

The dogwood tree is the trademark of Orleans – the Dogwood Capital of Indiana. Operation Dogwood was launched in the mid-1960s with a goal of having hundreds of the trees planted along roadways, the historic town park square and in yards.

The annual Dogwood Festival celebrates the town’s dogwood blossoms each spring.
