Organization offers counseling for women

PERRY COUNTY - Crisis Connection Inc. is accepting adult female clients who are ready to begin the process of healing from childhood sexual abuse.

The counseling sessions are free, confidential and facilitated by social workers. The format is based on the Courage to Heal format, which offers practical, empowering first hand information while providing respectful, compassionate guidance through the healing process.

Those interested are encouraged to call Crisis Connection and request appointments with Becky Dunlap, who has a master's degree in social work, or Angie Leisman, who earned a bachelor's degree in social work, at 547-8878.

Crisis Connection also offers support groups for adult female survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Applications for these groups may be made by contacting Patty Klem (domestic violence) or Leisman (sexual violence) at 547-8878.

Crisis Connection provides anger-management counseling for adult women. Applicants for the women's anger-management courses may be Department of Child Services referred or court-ordered.
