TELL CITY - Board members for the Perry County Recycling Management District approved a resolution in a June 30 regular meeting toward collecting and safely disposing of energy-saving fluorescent light bulbs that contain mercury.
"The federal government hasn't figured out a way to recycle them," district Executive Director Paul Alvey told the board in offering the resolution for their signature. The "little twisty bulbs," as he described them, present "a problem coming up that solid-waste districts are trying to get ahead of."
