PERRY COUNTY - A fast-rising Ohio River prompted the National Weather Service to issue a flood warning for the next several days. The river stood at 31.5 feet but was expected to rise steadily today and through the weekend, reaching 40.4 feet by Monday morning. Additional rises are possible, the warning reported.
The local flood stage is 38 feet.
High river levels are expected to close Indiana 66 southeast of Cannelton once the river reaches around 40 feet.
