Officials return courthouse roof-repair job to original bidder

TELL CITY - In a meeting attended by county-council representatives and county commissioners, the Perry County Redevelopment Commission opted Wednesday to give a courthouse roof-repair job back to the only contractor who initially bid on it.

Fella Home Improvement of Troy offered to repair the building's leaky roof for $52,320 in May, but at the urging of member Tony Hollinden, the redevelopment commission tabled the issue to determine why the roof deteriorated so quickly and how such degradation can be prevented in the future.
