TELL CITY - Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City will celebrate National Activity Professionals Week, Jan. 17 through Jan. 22.

This annual January event, declared by the National Association of Activity Professionals, honors and recognizes the activity professionals for the important role they play in enhancing the quality of life of the residents in their care.

The activity professionals at Oakwood Health Campus provide a wide variety of events and programs for the enjoyment of the residents. Some examples of recent events include Wii bowling league, Christmas light tours, weekly outing to local restaurants, Thanksgiving and Christmas family dinners and the Living Colors art program.

These events are beneficial to the residents by allowing them the opportunity to socialize, engage in physical and mental stimulation and create pleasurable and lasting memories.

"This nationally recognized week provides us with an opportunity to show our gratitude to the activity professionals at Oakwood Health Campus for the multitude of services they provide every day," stated Joelle Butcher, executive director. "I hope everyone will join me in thanking our activities staff for their commitment and contributions to the enhancement of the quality of life of those we serve."
