Oakwood kicks off annual food drive

-A A +A

TELL CITY – Oakwood Health Campus, a Trilogy Health Services Community and a Tell City provider of senior health and living services, has officially kicked off their annual company-wide “Independence from Hunger” food drive.
The campus’ business office will collect nonperishable food items and monetary donations from now until July 3. All proceeds will benefit Perry County Food Coalition.
In addition, the campus will host a special Jam the Van with Cans event from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Wal-Mart in Tell City. Oakwood’s bus will be parked on the grounds of the store with hopes of filling it entirely with canned goods and other nonperishable food items.
Last year, the campus raised more than 12,000 pounds of nonperishable food for the Perry County Food Coalition and Oakwood’s goal this year is to exceed that in food items and monetary donations. Members of the community, residents’ families and friends, and campus employees are encouraged to contribute to this cause.
