LEOPOLD—Tecumseh scored four unearned runs and beat Perry Central 6-3 in baseball Monday.
The Braves outhit Perry Central 10-4 and also took advantage of two Perry Central errors.
“We’re not playing terrible, but we’re not hitting the ball as well as we need to be,” said Perry Central Coach Gary Hanan. “If we can put the ball in play more, that would help.
“It’s all about coming up with the big hit and if we can make the big play.
“I thought Andrew Harpenau pitched an outstanding game. But we’ve got to play a complete game behind our pitchers.”
Harpenau walked one and struck out two as he pitched a complete game.
Ryan Kessens hit an RBI double for Perry Central and Ryan Hanan also hit a double for the Commodores.
Perry Central also lost to North Posey 10-1 Saturday as junior Mason Lingafelter no-hit the Commodores for the first 61⁄3 innings.
“Their pitcher threw about 85 miles per hour and had a lot of good stuff to go with it,” said Gary Hanan.
Austin Hauser broke up the no-hitter with a single up the middle in the seventh.
One out later, Hanan and Tony Backer hit consecutive singles to produce the Commodores’ run.
The 1-2 Vikings had 10 hits, including three doubles, for the game.
