North Perry Head Start accepting applications

LEOPOLD – The Lincoln Hills Development Corporation North Perry Head Start is currently taking applications for enrollment for the 2011-12 school year. An open house will be held Friday, April 8 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. You may enroll your child at this time or you may visit to learn more about Head Start. The North Perry Head Start Center is located next to Perry Central in Leopold.
Head Start is a federally-funded preschool program that provides comprehensive services for children and families participating in the program. Services meet educational, emotional, social, health, nutritional needs of preschool children and their families. Each child receives a complete physical and dental examination including vision, hearing and speech screening.
Meals and transportation are provided at no cost. Transportation services are determined on an individual basis.
Enrollment in the Head Start Program is based on age and family-income eligibility. Income guidelines are established yearly by the Federal Government. Applications will be accepted for children 3 to 5 years old on or before August 1.
To enroll your child in Head Start, you need to take the following:
1. Child’s Birth Certificate
2. Child’s Immunization record
3. Proof of income, which includes: Tax return, Child support, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families and Social Security income.
